Light touch!

I am a lover of salmon, a worshipper of petai and a celebrant of keropok. And so, dinner last night was good. We started off with Salmon salad which was gorgeous really. The beetroot looked a little dodgy. I remember reading somewhere it turns your urine red. Pushed it about the plate a little before deciding to live dangerously and swallow it. Posted by Picasa

Did it? Always does with me. You should eat your beetroot. It detoxes the liver and fortifies the blood.

Truth be..I forgot to check what colour the urine was this morning I was in such a hurry to go out. Do you think two weeny pieces of beetroot would have done the trick?

No. Eat MORE!

Beets are a big dish in my part of the country, or at least they were in my grandmother's day.

It is the ONE, and only one, food in the world that triggers my gag reflex. I was forced to eat them as a kid, and even the smell of them nauseates me now. I keep thinking I should give them another try...but I can't get near them.

aunty marianne: oh ho...I will, the next time I encounter a plate, you can be sure I'll be wolfing them down. They don't usually load the salads with beets over here. So I'll be on the lookout.

gnightgirl: Awwww! What a pity. The consistency of beetroot is quite addictive.( for me ) But I guess I understand the reason for the gag reflex. When we were younger we had half boiled eggs and crackers for breakfast every single morning for as far as I can remember. It's only recently I've taken to eating them again.
